Manganese castings

Manganese steel is commonly used for heavy-impact wear parts where toughness and work-hardening are important. When manganese steel is subjected to repeated impact, the surface hardens while the core remains tough, making it suitable for harsh material handling, crushing, shredding, and recycling applications.

Eastwell Engineering can supply manganese steel wear parts to suit existing machines, drawings, samples, or custom applications. Parts can be manufactured from existing patterns or reverse engineered where drawings are not available.

Manganese steel is best suited to applications where there is enough impact to allow the material to work-harden during service. For low-impact sliding abrasion, other wear materials such as Q&T plate or low alloy castings may be more suitable.
